Hi, I’m Diane — a Florida native, lifelong ocean lover, and the founder of Crabby Mermaid®.
I grew up on Anna Maria Island, where the Gulf was part of everyday life. Some of my earliest memories are tied to the beach and the water, and that connection has stayed with me ever since.
Over the years, the ocean has followed me everywhere — from Florida and the Keys to Hawaii, the Caribbean, the Bahamas, and coastlines across Europe. Whether I’m swimming, kayaking, scuba diving, shelling, or simply sitting beside the water, it has always been the place where I can disconnect, reflect, and just be.
Saltwater heals the soul.
How Crabby Mermaid Began
After years in the corporate world, Crabby Mermaid officially began on September 9, 2021. I wanted to build something that reflected the life and places I have always loved — beautiful coastlines, warm sunshine, turquoise water, and the feeling that comes from being near the sea.
Larimar and eco-friendly cork were part of Crabby Mermaid from the beginning. Larimar immediately felt like a natural fit because of its beautiful Caribbean blues, while cork offered something completely different — lightweight, durable, and perfect for an easy coastal lifestyle.
Since then, the collection has grown to include sterling silver, gold vermeil, freshwater pearls, crystals, ocean-inspired designs, and pieces chosen for women who want their jewelry to mean something beyond simply looking beautiful.

I personally curate the pieces offered through Crabby Mermaid, choosing jewelry that feels connected to the water and to the memories we make there. Sea turtles, starfish, waves, mermaids, Larimar, pearls and other coastal elements are more than motifs — they remind us of vacations, special places, people we love, and moments we want to carry with us.
My Irish heritage is also part of the story. My family roots trace back to Ireland, another place deeply shaped by the sea. That connection makes our Ocean Jewelry Collection especially meaningful to me.
